β˜† Calm in Chaos: Regulate Your Nervous System (+ Special Retreat) β˜†

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony. ~Thomas Merton

This week: intro to nervous system regulation, and an invitation to Finding Balance donation retreat.

🌹

Your nervous system is the gatekeeper of your bodymind state. It’s responsible for everything from your heartbeat to digestion, your sense of pain, your mood, and giving the 'ok' for change- like healing.

Learning how to regulate your nervous system is key to accessing a sense of groundedness, ease, and presence within yourself, no matter what is happening in life around you.

The understanding that we want a balanced and regulated nervous system has become common place, but do we know what it looks like when we're out of balance?

Some of the signals that your nervous system is dysregulated or out of balance may include:

  • feeling anxious, restless or on edge, having racing thoughts or racing heart
  • being easily startled or lacking ability to calm down
  • feeling tired all the time, feeling depressed
  • having trouble sleeping, or sleeping too much
  • digestive issues, lack of appropriate hunger
  • headaches, muscle tension with no obvious cause
  • difficulty concentrating or listening

Your body has its ways of letting you know when things are our of balance. Recognizing these messages is the first step toward finding balance and feeling better. Learn more HERE & HERE, and join me this week for a donation-based retreat for a simple reset of your nervous system.

Retreats are powerful invitations to return to your inner balance. Take a listen to this conversation I had last week with my friend Lainie Love on the Power of Transformational Retreats to get inspired to carve out time for yourself to reset, restore and rejuvenate within... whether it's this week together or sometime on your own!

A core mission of the Kutilaa School is to ignite a shift from standard approaches to modern postural yoga towards regenerative, healthy embodied practices through non-linear movement, aligning more truly with yogic teachings of truth, non-harming and unity, as well as with our body as a footprint of the intelligence of the flow of life.

If you've read this far, thank you!! Birthing an online school takes alot of heart & hard work.

Hi Reader, I just finished one of the most in-depth blogs so far. Loving writing, I hope you appreciate it as much as the passion I put into it. Here's a brief excerpt, though I hope you read the whole piece. According to Medium it's an 8-minute read that's full of inspiration and information in service of living well inside and out, personal and beyond. Here's an excerpt: What does alignment truly mean? How do we know when we are there… or when we’re missing the mark? Conceptually, alignment...
