✨Listen first, then respond, and above all, kindness

Listen first, and then respond. And above all, kindness.

This week: a new writing, a conversation on movement for anxiety, and a schedule change.

Also, welcome to new subscribers from Power of Meditation Summit!

Hi Reader,

It's been a surreal start to the year in shared and personal ways for almost everyone I know.

In addition to the absolutely bonkers timeline of current events, the first weeks of 2026 felt like an initiation of sorts. In many ways, I'd like to give my 2-week free trial back, thank you! And yet, lessons of gratitude, kindness, community and the power of coming together are being gathered up for the year ahead.

I spent time over the last two weeks writing a piece about the Life (& Death) Lessons I have collected from Bobby Weir, whose passing on 'to the next adventure' impacted me more than I was prepared for.

I hope you'll have a read here.

Loss has a way of reminding us what matters. Bobby's passing is but one of the reminders, along with the collective grief so many are feeling, the surreal weight of current events ~ it's all asking us to show up fully in honor of life. Not just to think or analyze, but to feel and respond with our whole being.

We're not designed to process all that we're seeing, hearing, witnessing.

This is why we need embodied practice. Of course it's not the only thing we need, but it's more important than ever to understand that mental health is a body-wide experience.

Movement helps us process at levels deeper than rational cognition.

Mindful movement grounds us when the world is spinning. No matter what ways you love to move, you'll harvest the greatest mental-emotional benefits when you stay present to sensations, breath, rhythm and rest. This yogic approach to awareness in the body is truly one of its greatest gifts.

Move your body. Anything slow and strong, bodyweight or using weights is especially helpful to experience, feel and embody steadiness in body, mind and response.

Honor your nourishment and your rest. Be tender with yourself.

Weave the webs of your own vitality and resilience, personally and collectively.

We can see, feel, and choose how we respond ~ especially when we stay connected to the wisdom of our soma.

We're in this together,

Michelle
