Burn baby burn ๐Ÿ”ฅ

In each moment the fire rages, it will burn away a hundred veils.

And carry you a thousand steps toward your goal. ~ Rumi

Hi Reader,

Ayurveda teaches that we accumulate heat over the summer, which can aggravate Pitta Dosha, the dosha associated with spreading fire.

๐Ÿ”ฅ

Pitta aggravation is connected to anger, frustration, resistance and even rage (of course there's also good rage!), yet in balance is our power of discrimination~ using the light of fire to see clearly, identify priorities and burn though distraction.

Whew, I've sure been feeling these things... even though our summer here in Marin has been cooler overall, the heat has arrived (literally and figuratively) and it's churning and burning, challenging all my tools of regulation and resilience. (Although there's always the cosmic trickster giving us the advanced lessons in the topics we're here to share with others... I can confidently say I've tried and tested the embodied tool I share.)

It's wild to be feeling emotions like these (and at a strength that is entirely unfamiliar to me), while juxtaposed to such beauty, gratitude and deep awe in other ways, simultaneously.

How about you?

I doubt I'm alone in this - the extremes, the paradox.

Facing reality is embracing it all. Seeing, present, even welcoming it, savoring it, dancing in the flames.

Ah, the flames.

๐Ÿ”ฅ

That heat melts the resistance, burns the distractions, invites us to embody sharp clarity and fierce love.

That's what this time is for me, a lifetime synced up with returning to the school year to focus, 17 of 23 years trekking out for the ritual of collective fire renewal at Burning Man, and when I choose to not go (like this year), it's because that firey Pitta focus has other priorities.

๐Ÿ”ฅ

Those priorities are the continuation of the fire of inspiration stoked at the Fascia Research Congress just a few weeks ago, and wanting to tend that fire as best I can.

Just a few days ago a podcast conversation that was meant for early August was published, and though timing isn't what was planned, it's a wonderful conversation on Embodied Resilience, non-linear alignment, the relationship between Tantric philosophy and fascia research and more.

It was an honor to get invited by Sue herself, the founder of the Melt Method and one of the esteemed moderators and long-time organizers of the Fascia Research Congress. It was even better to meet and connect in person at the event!

It's helpful for anyone who loves movement, yoga, anatomy, or could use inspiration for self-care and bodymind resilience. It's also relevant for anyone who is feeling like they are dancing in the flames of these times.

May tuning in renew you, refresh you form the flames, and may you have a sweet holiday (here in the US- great opportunity to brush up on history of labor rights;). My little town is celebrating it's 125th birthday - may the warm fire of community light the way for us all.

To your rituals of renewal,

Michelle
